Mission Welcome to Fall of Nations, a browser-based game of strategy, guile, and determination. As a newcomer to the game, to call your forces an army is a great injustice. You have no soldiers, few resources, and no authority in the universe of Fall of Nations. Your mission is to mend a reputation as a powerful figure in the game by amounting soldiers, collecting resources, and slaying all those who oppose you. Dare you be an arrogant and ambitious leader, let your mission be to become the most powerful figure in Fall of Nations. Races Fall of Nations is populated by four races: the Commoners, the Enlightened, the Barbarians, and the Outcasts. Each has a distinct advantage, and sub-sequently, a disadvantage. Commoners profit from a 25% revenue bonus. The Enlightened see all and know all through a 25% intelligence bonus (please see section 4.4.2 for more information on intelligence). Barbarians overpower through a 25% attack bonus. Outcasts take shelter behind a 25% defense bonus. Choose your race carefully, incorporating its strength into your strategy. Profile The “Profile” box in the left navigation pane is a way for you to quickly assess your army's status. Gold Gold is Fall of Nation's currency. Using gold you can recruit soldiers, build structures, and purchase upgrades. You are awarded gold every 15 minutes according to the number of units you and your minions' possess (please see section 4.7 for more information regarding minions). You also earn gold through raiding, as described in section 4.2. Units In Fall of Nations, soldiers are refered to as units. Every soldier equates to one unit. The “Profile” box displays the number of units you own and your unit limit. To increase your unit limit you must build housing structures as described in section 4.5. Turns Turns are required for attacking and espionage. You are awarded 1 turn every 3 minutes. You can store a maximum of 500 turns. Karma “One's acts considered as fixing one's lot in the future existence.” (Webster's) To encourage fair play, Fall of Nations relies on the karma system. Your karma increases and decreases in and only in attacking. If you attack an opponent ranked below you, your karma worsens. If you attack and opponent ranked higher than you, your karma improves. Your karma directly affects your attack, defense, and intelligence. Control Panel Overview This section provides a listing of your units and calculates your overall strength. Attack Identify your target by either entering his/her player ID directly or by viewing his/her profile and selecting the “Attack this Player!” action. Select which units you wish to attack with (see section 4.4.1 for more information on the “Position” property) and the number of turns you want to use. It is recommended that you always use 15 attack turns to maximize the effectiveness of your attacks. You will then be directed to the attack log. Visit the “Attack Logs” section to manage your logs. Espionage Usage is similar to the “Attack” (as described in section 4.2). Rather than engaging the enemy in combat, your forces will attempt to assess the target's power through the use of intelligence, returning a detailed log of their findings. Please see section 4.4.2 for more information on the "Intelligence" statistic. Reconnaissance (Recon) Missions You can extend an espionage mission through reconnaissance. Your recon mission success rate is dependant on your intelligence. If the mission succeeds, the next time you attack the selected target or he/she attacks you, you gain a 25% bonus in each of attack, defense, and intelligence statistics. If you fail, you may lose espionage specialist units and the target will be alerted of your recon mission attempt. You can view active recon missions in the espionage logs. If you engage in combat with the enemy whom the mission targets, the mission will disappear from the espionage logs and will instead appear as a bold (R) in the attack logs. Recruitment To strengthen your army, you will have to recruit units. Doing so is simple. Simply type the number of units you'd like to recruit and press “Recruit”. Note that recruitment of all units with the exception of the ground melee unit require the associated structure. “Position”, “Air”, and “Ground” Attributes A unit's “Position” places it either on the ground or in the air. The “Air” and “Ground” attributes determine whether or not a unit can attack aerial and ground units respectively. “Intelligence” Statistic In addition to being one of the primary ranking determinants, “Intelligence” is reflected in two instances of gameplay: gold raiding and espionage. In all attacks, gold is stolen from the target. The amount stolen is directly proportional to the attacker's “Intelligence” and inversely proportional to the victim's “Intelligence”. The same relation is true in espionage. However, rather than gold, the subject in question is the quality of the information obtained from the espionage mission. Strucutures Structures serve to either increase your unit limit or to enable the recruitment of assorted units. Upgrades Upgrades increase the strength of all your units, not just a select few. Upgrades raise one of three fields: attack, defense, or intelligence. Minions Minions are players who join the game by following your “Invitation Link”. Their role is vital if you wish to succeed in Fall of Nations. Upon every gold update, you're awarded a bonus based on your minions' income. The more gold your minions earn, the bigger the bonuses. Guilds Creating a guild enables you and a group of friends (up to 25 players) to communicate effectively in the game. Your guild gets its very own forum in which you can post public threads as well as private threads (only guild members can read and reply). Such communication allows you to easily coordinate attacks against other players and guilds. Fellow guild members' links will always appear in bold grey as opposed to the usual blue of normal player links (or red of enemy links). Please note that guilds have no impact on any gameplay elements such as attacking and espionage. Friends/Enemies Your friends/enemies list is a great way to stay in touch with acquaintances or to establish targets in the game. To add a friend/enemy to your list, simply visit his/her profile and click on “Add to Friends/Enemies List”. Unlike normal player links, your friends' links will appear in bold blue and your enemies' links will appear in bold red. Whether you're browsing to see “Who's Online” or the “Rankings”, your friends/enemies will be easy to spot. Ignore List If a player is sending you annoying private messages, you can add him/her to your ignore list. By doing so, you will no longer receive any messages he/she sends you. To add a player to your ignore list, simply visit his/her profile and click on "Add to Ignore List". Private Messaging This feature allows you to send messages to other players. Tell a Friend Tell a Friend is a conveniant way of inviting your friends to join Fall of Nations. As an added bonus, every email sent using Tell a Friend will contain your “Invitation Link”. If your friends elect to join the game, they'll be doing so as your minions. Ranking Method A player's rank is the average of his/her attack rank, defense rank, and intelligence rank. For example, a player with an attack rank of 8, a defense rank of 13, and an intelligence rank of 6 would be ranked 9th overall. Player points are awarded upon every ranking update as follows (rank - points): 1 - 1,024, 2-10 - 512, 11-50 - 256, 51-100 - 128, 101-200 - 64, 201-300 - 32, 301-400 - 16, 401-500 - 8, 501-750 - 4, 751-1000 - 2, 1001-1500 - 1. The Round's winner is the player with the most points. Guild points are awarded upon every ranking update as follows (rank - points): 1 - 11, 2-5 - 10, 6-10 - 9, 11-15 - 8, 16-20 - 7, 21-25 - 6, 26-30 - 5, 31-35 - 4, 36-40 - 3, 41-45 - 2, 46-50 - 1. Rules (subject to change) Using multiple accounts is strictly prohibited. To ensure there are no misunderstandings, usage of multiple accounts equates to a single person enacting as more than 1 player in Fall of Nations. Anyone caught doing so will have his/her accounts terminated immediately, no questions asked. Abuse of the private messaging system will result in account suspension. Such abuse includes flooding others with messages, the use of racials slurs, and excessive profanity. Terms of Service (subject to change) Players may be disqualified from prize winnings at the site owner's discretion. Reasons include but are not exclusive to breaking the Rules. Prize winners agree to pay the shipping costs for prizes. Prize winners who do not claim their prize within 2 weeks of round completion forfeit it.

After reading ALL this HUGE message, I think that short and simple is impossible for this game. And so, I don't think I have enough courage to get in it...
